Iowa State University is committed to hazing prevention through research-informed, campus-wide programs targeting students, staff, and faculty. These programs include training on hazing awareness for students, organization leaders, and advisors, bystander intervention, and encouraging a welcoming and cohesive organizational culture. The Office of Student Engagement provides training for organization leaders and advisors, and Green Dot at Iowa State offers training on bystander intervention.

Concerns of hazing can be reported using the electronic reporting form on this page. Please complete the form sharing as many known details as possible to ensure the Office of Student Conduct is able to conduct a thorough investigation. All allegations of hazing will be addressed through the applicable policies and procedures, as indicated in the Student Code of Conduct (https://www.policy.iastate.edu/policy/SDR).

Reporting Party Information Provided: If you provide your name and contact information, a staff member may follow up with you. While you may be contacted, you are not required to participate further in the process. Reporting party names are kept private to the extent possible in the course of an investigation, but in some circumstances may need to be disclosed during adjudication. For questions regarding reporting, please contact the Office of Student Conduct directly.

Anonymous Hazing Submissions: The university will accept and review anonymous submissions. Anonymous submissions, particularly without documentation or specific details, may limit the university’s ability to follow up or take action on the information provided. While you may be contacted, you are not required to participate further in the process.

In compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, the Office of Student Conduct will maintain and publish a Hazing Transparency Report (HTR) twice annually. This report will include a summary of substantiated hazing incidents, involved organizations, and student disciplinary findings and outcomes while adhering to applicable privacy laws.

Hazing is prohibited under university policy and Iowa law.
